FDR in his study, 1942

The Salisbury, N.C., Post carries a recollection of his funeral train in 1945.

Listen to Willie Eason sing “Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Poor Man’s Friend.”

Watch the outstanding American Experience bio of FDR in its entirety online.

  1. Old Dominion Tory

Excellent image. I recall that, after the 1938 elections, a weary, defeated Roosevelt said that he was looking forward to returning to Hyde Park and writing naval history.
I often have wondered what he would have produced in the way of naval history if he had had the chance.

  2. ODT, thought you might like the pic. For your interest, here is a bit on FDR and the Navy.

Check out the name of the ship in the print!
